MISSION STATEMENT OF FIDA-GHANA
FIDA-Ghana, a non profit, non partisan organization is committed to addressing discriminatory practices in the society, and promoting and protecting the rights of women and children in Ghana.
A society that is fair and just, and free from discrimination where the rights of women, children and the vulnerable are recognized, respected and protected.
VALUES AND PRINCIPLES
We have passion for the work we do given the cultural barriers and strong patriarchal systems that women are faced with in our society and needs to be addressed.
We are committed to using the law to improve and enhance the status of women and children in Ghana, in order to accelerate the development of the nation
We consider integrity an essential part of our working relationship with our clients, Development partners, allied organizations and government institutions to bring about the needed transformation in the lives of women and children.
We respect the rights and dignity of all irrespective of their socio-economic background. Our eventual goal is to see a society where the rights of women, children and the vulnerable are recognized, respected and protected.
With team work we are able to achieve great strides with little resources in our quest to eliminate discriminatory practices against women and children.
Whilst being accountable to our numerous clientele and development partners we also hold government accountable on their obligation towards the enforcement of international treaties and conventions affecting women and children.
FIDA–Ghana engages government to ensure that gender mainstreaming is a part of government policies, this is because we believe that any policy which is not engendered is endangered. We do this together with our allies and partners.
