“MY BODY MY WEALTH” is an annual campaign initiated by FIDA Ghana to make certain that issues of violence and its link to HIV against adolescent girls are made highly visible on days set aside to celebrate World AIDS day and International day of Persons with Disabilities on the 1st and 3rd December respectively. The title of the poem is “My Body My Wealth” WEALTH is an acronym for Wise Empowered Adolescent Leading body inTegrity for HIV prevention.

The key message of the campaign is disseminated by the adolescent girls through the medium of poetry. The poems provide knowledge about bodily rights and at the same time it empowers adolescent girls to apply that knowledge to make wise decisions that protects their bodily rights. Contestants were encouraged to focus their messages around WEALTH which includes education, health and economic assets as a personification of WEALTH.
